Jake Owens Drumstick!

So in 14 months, Richie and I have only been out twice alone. Both times we just went to see a movie then came home. So this past weekend we ventured over to West Palm Beach to go to the Jason Aldean concert. He was also with Jake Owen and Thomas Rhett (mmm). We just stayed one night and I know that Ry is in good hands with grandma but it's still hard to leave her overnight, especially since she's sick.

So let me tell you, when we got to the concert we were in complete awe. I've been to plenty of concerts but I've never seen anything like this. Girls wearing only bras. People jumping on the hoods of cars. Fights. It's really hard to describe what we witnessed. The people there were beyond scum. I felt so bad for the old people that check your tickets. Crazy white trash just running them down, pushing them around, telling them to "f*** off" because they wouldn't let them in the gate (well you don't have a ticket)! It was absolutely disgusting. This was our first time going to west palm for a concert and will be our last.

BUT the performance was great! I caught a drumstick that Jake Owen threw out in the crowd. I gave it to a little boy though. I mean what was I going to do with it,  frame it and hang it in my room?

It was just good to get away and have alone time though. We really need to do it more often. But It's also always good to get home to my little babe :)

My Struggle With Heart Disease. A Request For Prayers.

I was born with a heart defect called aortic stenosis. It's basically a narrowing of the aortic valve so my heart doesn't pump the way it should. Before I was 6 months old i had 2 open heart surgeries. I had repair work done on my aorta and my aortic valve.

My life growing up was very different then most all of the other kids. I was active, but had to take more rest. I was always worried about people seeing all of my scars (and still am to this day). I had to take medication daily and see a cardiologist every 6 months for testing to make sure the repair work they did when I was born, was still holding up. When I was a baby, my doctors told my mom that I would not be able to have kids and that I would need a valve replacement when I was 18 years old. 18 came around and I was in such great health for staying active and eating healthy that the replacement was held off and they said i probably wouldn't need a replacement til about age 35-40! Amazing!

When I was 24, I accidentally became pregnant. And this is where it begins. My pregnancy was awful. Everything a pregnancy shouldn't be. 24/7 bed rest. Weekly doctors appointments with my OB and cardiologist and of course the thought, will I survive labor? Labor was the biggest concern since my heart isn't healthy, it can't handle much stress. But luckily for me, Ry was able to be vacuumed out to eliminate the stress and we both survived.

Since there was so much stress and wear and tear on my heart, it is now time for a valve replacement. Next month I will be getting a new heart valve and I am terrified. I don't think it would be as scary if I didn't have a one year old, but I want to still be here for Ry and make sure she grows up with a mom. I'm requesting everyone's prayers that not only do I survive this procedure, but that I don't have any complications, and have a fast recovery so I can continue to take care of my daughter the way a mother should. I have a rough road ahead of me as this will not be the last surgery.

Please pass this prayer request along. I would greatly appreciate.
Thanks!

(There is a button on my side bar. Feel free to use to share the prayer request.)

First Blog Hater!

I wasn't sure if I wanted to write about this but I'm pretty sure every blogger has dealt with this at one point.

Piece of advice or information

So a couple days ago I wrote a blogtember post about where I come from. And I mentioned that down here in Fort Myers, FL we don't say "no ma'am yes ma'am". A lovely "blog hater" as I would like to refer to her as commented saying that's its a shame I don't have manners or some nonscense. Honestly I glanced at it. Did a "psh yah screw you" and deleted it. What this blog hater doesn't know is that where I come from it's actually rude to use the term "ma'am", unless she is older. Much older. Like over 80. Most woman down here get offended when they are called ma'am or even Miss because it makes them feel older, which they don't like.

So my advice today is for all of the blog haters out there.
1. My blog only shows 1% of my life. You don't see the other 99% of my life. You have no idea. So before you pass judgement, remember that.
2. This is MY blog. If you don't like what I have to say, then don't read it!

That is all.

Oh and here's a pic of this cute model babe to lighten the mood :)

Life update & blogtember

I'm combining two post in one today since my whole house is sick. Ry is napping so I'm making this short & sweet.

So in like the past 2 days Ry has added so many words to her vocab which makes me so happy since I was starting to get a little worried. If you follow me on instagram there's a video of her saying "rylee"! She also can say Gigi (her grandma), Papi (her grandpa), and ball now. Her old words are starting to sound a lot more clear too.

In my news, yesterday I saw my surgeon and since I'm sick with the flu, they won't operate for at least another 6 weeks. So looking at a mid October date. Ugh. I'm just ready to get this over with!

Now its time for Blogtember!

If you could take 3 months off from your current life, what would you do?

This question is hard because its hard to picture 3 months without Ry. But I think I would probably try to enter the Big Brother House! HAHAHA
I freekin' love that show. Richie & I are addicted to it and I was say how much I want to go on it but that I couldn't live without Ry for that long. So if my current life was non existent for 3 months that's definitely what I would do :)

#BLOGTEMBER (Link-Up)

So I'm in a blogging slump and running out of fun post to write about. Luckily I found, Jenni, and will be joining in on #Blogtember. Each week day will be a new subject to write about. The purpose? To just write and get your thoughts and feelings out. Love this.

Where you come from.

I come from the "fake south". Fort Myers Beach, Florida to be exact. Geographically we are in the south but we are far from "southern". We don't say no ma'am; yes ma'am. Don't wear pearls or carry around monogrammed bags. We don't sit around and gossip for fun. We don't believe in gender roles (I've taught my southern boyfriend that very fast). We think divorce is normal (sad but true).

We tend to live a carefree life. Sort of like a permanent vacation (this might actually be where you vacation). We live in our bathing suits and flip flops. The dermatologist are probably the most visited doctors here. The heat is insane but we also have an amazing ocean breeze. We only have 2 seasons. Summer and a week of cold.

Growing up my mom would sit on the beach drinking her cocktails while I played in the sand all day. After school i would stop at the 7-11 (south fl thing) to get a slurpee. Our field trips were always to water parks. In high school our idea of a good time was cruising the beach strip.

These days my beach days are limited but you better believe I'm raising my daughter to be a beach bum.

I really do believe that Fort Myers is the best place to live and raise a family (yea I'm biased)... But like I said, we live where you vacation :)
